Ski/Snowboard Club

4th, 5th, and 6th Graders are invited to join the Discovery Ski/Snowboard Club. There will be an information meeting on Wednesday, December 16th at 5:30pm in the library. Fall Carnival

I just wanted to remind everyone about the upcoming Discovery Elementary Halloween Carnival this Thursday, 29th October 5:30-8pm. There will be lots of FREE activities, food (small charge), a small Silent Auction and a Bake Sale.

If there are any of you that are willing to bring bake goods that would be REALLY appreciated. If you do, you can bring it any time that day and you can put it in Mr Marlowes office. After school we will have it set up in the gym so just bring it there.

Also if there is anyway interested in donating something for the silent auction that would be wonderful. Just let me know, Zoe 522-8141. Also call me if you could help with everything. We have a lot of volunteers already but the more the merrier!!!

I hope this night will be a great success and your kids will have a great time as well as yourselves. Thanks for always being so willing to help.

Cookie Dough

Your children should have received packets for cookie dough orders!! This year the money will be used for school improvement such as library books and playground equipment. Check out the catalogs-take them to your neighbors, family and friends!! All orders are due October 16. Good luck, have fun and be safe.

WOW ON BOX TOPS!!!

We have collected 4637 as a school so far this year!!!!! That equals $463.70 in just one month-WOW!!!! Please continue to support your school and classes. Please check expiration dates- we cannot submit the ones that have expired. You can use the collection sheets on the Box Top Website if you need addition ones or just make a copy of the original sent home. You can also send them in bags of 50 with your child's name.

There is a PTO Meeting today at 3:30 in Library-please come and find out how you can help our school. Campbell Soup Labels

Wondering if we should start collecting the soup labels. Iknow many parents send them with the box tops and I have been just throwing them out. I heard it wasn't worth it-but then I got thinking what if it is? I was wondering what opinions anyone has about it and if they are willing to do the collecting part of it? NEW YEAR-NEW COMPETITION

Welcome to another year at Discovery. We are excited to already have money in the budget this year for some of our projects. One we are continuing to do is box tops. Please send them with your child's name either on the collection sheets sent home or from the website. You can also send them in bags of 50 with your child's name.

Box Top Competition is Ending SOON!!!

The Box top competition will end at the end of April. Current totals are: Mrs. Patience with 646, Mrs. Smith with 561, Mrs. Davenport PM with 387, Mrs. Martineau with 325. There are additional collection sheets HERE on the box top website if you need them. Double check your expiration dates-we can't submit anything that has expired. Box tops for education are due!!

Jaimee Sorensen wanted me to post about box tops. She says...

Keep bringing in your box tops. We will receive a check in April with all box tops submitted by Thursday, February 26. The classroom and family competition will run until the end of the April. Please continue to support our school with your box tops. Call grandparents, aunts & uncles, neighbors. The class with the most box tops wins a pizza party and the family with the most collected will receive a $50 Craigo's gift certificate. Double check expiration dates, we cannot submit anything that has expired. There are several to expire June/July 2009.

You can also go through the box top website to shop online and a percentage of your purchase will be donated to the school. Stores include Walmart, Aeropostale, all the Gap stores, Barnes & Noble, Old Navy, Oriental Trading, Overstock, Target, JCPenney. Just go to the Box Tops Marketplace.
